As of today, October 5th, the results of the selection process for proposals that will be included in the official program of the Brazil Pavilion at the 31st United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP31) are available. This is one of the ways for stakeholders to participate in the conference, which will take place from November 9 to 20 in Antalya, Türkiye.
The selection process was coordinated by the Brazil Pavilion Organizing Committee, composed of the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MMA), the COP30 Presidency, and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). The committee evaluated proposals based on criteria including alignment with the conference themes, technical quality, regional and sectoral diversity, potential impact, and consistency with the priorities of the Brazilian and international climate agendas.
This year, the call for proposals received 780 submissions, of which 114 were selected to be part of the program in the Belém and Global Mutirão Auditoriums, venues dedicated to panel discussions, debates, launches, and presentations throughout the conference.
The Brazil Pavilion will serve as the country’s main venue in the Blue Zone of COP31, bringing together representatives from governments, Indigenous Peoples and traditional communities, the private sector, academia, civil society organizations, and international organizations to showcase experiences, public policies, and solutions aimed at addressing climate change.
The Belém Auditorium will host sessions on issues of particular relevance to Brazilian society, highlighting national experiences in implementing the climate agenda and their contribution to global commitments.
The Global Mutirão Auditorium will focus on the Global Climate Action Agenda, featuring initiatives aligned with the six thematic areas identified through the first Global Stocktake and the Solution Acceleration Plans launched during COP30.
Events at the Brazil Pavilion are expected to take place daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. (local time), with each session lasting up to one hour.
